Dr. Julie Peterson, PsyD, places a large emphasis on support in addition to symptom reduction. She thoughtfully integrates perspectives from Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Adlerian theory to assist clients through discouragements that may cause them to feel stuck in life transitions.
Dr. Peterson earned a BA from North Central College and MA and PsyD degrees from Adler University. She then completed a two-year fellowship training that emphasized couple and family therapy, and now continues to work with people of all ages who struggle with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and developmental disabilities.
Dr. Peterson’s areas of clinical expertise include: Adult Children and Parent Relationship Issues, Anger Management, Autism/Asperger’s, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Couples Conflict, Depression/Mood Disorders, Life Stage Transitions, Premarital Issues and Counseling, School Issues, Sibling Issues, Transition to Parenthood, Women’s Issues, and Work/Life Balance Issues. In addition, she helps parents and families promote healthy development in their children by addressing areas such as parent-child relationships, skill building and co-parenting.
