Dr. Brittany Nelson, PsyD, believes in creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment foster therapeutic change. Her extensive background includes treating people of all ages in areas such as trauma, physical, mental, and sexual abuse, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, eating disorders, parenting, attachment issues, personality disorders, and sexual health.
Dr. Nelson earned a BS degree from Loyola University Chicago and a PsyD from Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In addition to over five years of clinical experience, she also volunteered in a domestic violence shelter where she provided advocacy for sexual assault survivors and sex education in high schools.
Dr. Nelson primarily uses interpersonal psychodynamic and strengths-based approaches adapted to the client needs. With each client, her goal is to foster change within the therapy room that can be easily translated into daily life.
