Vicki Bolina, PsyD provides a safe space for anyone going through difficult situations, or just wanting to improve their mental health. Dr. Bolina has experience not only with private practice, but in psychiatric hospitals, nursing homes, school systems, outpatient clinics, a university counseling center, a domestic violence shelter, and in the prison system.
Dr. Bolina welcomes all ages into her office, from toddlers to adolescents to adults of all ages. She specializes in anxiety, depression, addictions, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She is especially skilled in:
Adolescent Psychology: Adolescents are going through stressful school life and, sometimes, home life. Coping mechanisms are important to regulate panic or anxiety that may be caused by school or friends. Dr. Bolina offers psychological evaluations for teens to help diagnosis any further disorders/issues.
Women’s Issues: Self-esteem, depression, even domestic violence are topics women may need support for. Marriage and family life can be a difficult change in life where Dr. Bolina offers her office and expertise on finding a happy medium to lead a better life.
Forensic Psychology: Dr. Bolina has extensive experience in the prison system and those who are exiting. She provides aftercare for those who were released on parole, as well as those who are going through the courts actively.
In therapy, Dr. Bolina uses different therapeutic methods depending on what you need. She has used play therapy, CBT, and DBT. She has excellent experience in many different environments to ensure you are getting the best and most appropriate care to live a healthy life.
Dr. Bolina earned her master’s degree and doctorate degree from Argosy University – Chicago Northwest Campus. She has been teaching psychology classes to both undergraduate and graduate level students since 2008. Out of the office and classroom, she is a wife and mother. She enjoys self-care activities, scrapbooking, and traveling when she can.
