Dr. Tak-Seng Lodrö, PsyD, works with every client in a collaborative manner, and a great deal of emphasis is placed upon the development of an open, honest, direct, and genuine therapeutic relationship. It’s vital that each person feels safe and understood in sessions so that they can uncover the painful experiences that often underlie our difficulties in life. He primarily utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Family Systems Therapies in his practice. These allow him to be effective, creative and flexible in his work with clients so that he can adapt to each person’s style and preferences. He also likes to educate his clients on some basic neuroscience concepts to help each person understand just how powerful their changes and experiences are.
Dr. Lodrö received a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology. He brings over 13 years of experience treating clients of all ages and in a variety of settings (inpatient, intensive outpatient, therapeutic day schools for students with IEPs), but finds working with adolescents, families/parents and couples particularly fulfilling. He’s worked with some of the most challenging situations and disorders, but also with those that are very minor. Additionally, Dr. Lodrö has a great deal of business experience and has supported high level executives both personally and professionally. Fundamentally, Dr. Lodrö has the ability to help nearly any client with their difficulties, but he’ll also admit limitations if not be able to serve them adequately.
Simply put, Dr. Lodrö is passionate about his work and finds it a privilege to care for and support his clients as they learn how to navigate their relationships, thoughts and emotions. Witnessing someone make positive changes in their life and feel their eventual success is a precious, sacred, and amazing thing for Dr. Lodrö.
