Stephanie Alvarez, LCSW, knows going to therapy is a vulnerable experience, so she creates a safe and inviting environment that allow clients express themselves in an honest way. She strives to become unnecessary by strengthening current and teaching new coping skills.
In therapy, Stephanie takes a holistic approach and understands social and cultural influences. Each person has a different path to healing and she enjoys discovering that path together. She uses modalities such as CBT, psychodynamic, mindfulness, and trauma-informed interventions and is able to tailor tools and coping mechanisms to best support client needs.
Stephanie earned an MSW from University of Southern California. Her previous experience includes working with at-risk youth dealing with family issues and depression, treating survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault, and helping people in crisis situations. She works with adolescents and adults struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, domestic abuse, sexual assault, self injury, mood disorders, and more.
