Rachelle DeBehnke, LCPC, is congruent with clients and brings curiosity and humility to the therapeutic
space, honoring the lived experience of each individual. She believes the crux of any successful treatment centers on continued collaboration between client and therapist.
Earlier in her career, Rachelle worked in community based settings with a diverse range of clients living with severe and persistent mental illness, substance abuse/dependence, co-occurring disorders, and chronic illness. She has extensive experience working with elders (60+), clients who are living with chronic pain/chronic illness, and those who are experiencing medical crises. Rachelle is LGBTQ+ and racial justice allied. Utilizing empathy, clinical knowledge and experience, Rachelle facilitates warmth and safety in clinical relationships with clients, empowering individuals to thrive beyond survival.
In therapy, Rachelle works with clients in a primarily psychodynamic way, helping clients build insight into unconscious motivations for patterns of behavior that prevent them from feeling fulfilled. She is a harm reductionist and a proponent of restorative justice. Informed by current research in the neurobiology of Trauma and addiction, Rachelle additionally uses cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to help clients manage and overcome thought and behavioral patterns that present a
barrier to accomplishing their goals.
