Sushma Cheturvedula, LPC, shows unconditional positive regard and empathy in each therapy session. She supports clients as they reach their goals and learn to live a better life. Sushma enjoys working with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and is LGBTQIA+ friendly.
Sushma earned a Education Specialist (Ed.S) in Professional Counseling and an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from University of Central Missouri. Fluent in English and Indian, Sushma especially enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with anxiety, trauma, behavioral issues, anger management, self-injury, and more.
In therapy, Sushma believes in a collaborative process and often utilizes Play Therapy with children and Sand Tray Therapy with adolescents and adults to decrease symptoms, increase self-awareness, enhance personal strengths, and gain new perspectives to have a more meaningful life experience. She has specialized training using these therapies to explore the conscious/unconscious and discover feelings where there are no words. In every case, Sushma creates a non-judgmental space to safely process and nurture the courage to be imperfect.
