Taking the first step towards change can be incredibly scary; you are deciding to walk outside of your comfort zone and challenge yourself, hoping that your walk through the dark halls of uncertainty leads to the discovering the change that you want and deserve. I would love to take that journey towards change with you, and help you discover a stronger and more confident self along the way
Let me tell you a bit about myself and my work so you can make an informed decision if you feel I would be a good fit for you in your therapy journey, as I know how difficult and frustrating finding the right therapist can be. I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where I pursued my education at Tulane University and subsequently received professional training in the field of clinical social work. I then decided to make a big move up north to Chicago, largely to satisfy my desire for travel and exploration, where I received my LCSW and continued to hone my clinical skills as a therapist. My most recent work has involved working with employees struggling with anxiety, depression, and substance use issues that have impacted their growth potential. I have also worked in a variety of other settings, including inpatient hospitalization, incarceration, and residential substance abuse facilities. I’m passionate in what I do and would be excited to work hard with you.
I approach the therapeutic process through a compassionate and collaborative framework, allowing for my clients to hold on to and further develop their innate dignity, self-worth, and self-determinism while simultaneously walking with them through their internal process of change. I utilize a collaborative and systems approach, tailoring therapy to meet your specific needs, as well as CBT and mindfulness when applicable. Some hobbies of mine include running, reading, writing, and spending time with people that I love. I’d love to hear from you.
