Mark Schlitt, LCPC, is passionate about helping clients of all ages overcome challenges and learn new ways to cope. He has over 25 years serving individuals, couples, and families struggling with addictions, self-esteem, behavioral issues, severe mental illness, and more.
Mark is committed to applying evidence based practices to achieve desired outcomes. He is highly skilled at diagnosis, assessment, crisis stabilization, and a variety of integrative psychotherapies to help clients heal. Mark is also especially skilled at treating:
Trauma: Trauma can leave you struggling with upsetting emotions, memories, and anxiety that won’t go away. From childhood exposure to PTSD for veterans, Mark can help you deal with the physical, emotional, and psychological effects of traumatic events.
Personality Disorders: Personality disorders cause abnormal thoughts and behaviors that keep people from functioning as well as they should. Mark can help regulate emotions that stem from bipolar disorder, OCD, schizophrenia, and more.
Depression & Anxiety: Just as no two people are affected the exact same way by depression and anxiety, there is no “one size fits all” treatment. Mark will work with you and find the right approach to ease stress and pain. The results you seek are possible, and he is here for guidance and support as you work toward a better life.
In therapy, Mark's style is integrative and psychotherapy based. He uses DBT, ACT, and recognizes how language contributes to psychological problems. In every case, Mark draws from large menu of treatment options and tailors his approach to each individual.
Mark earned a graduate degree from Roosevelt University. He welcomes a diverse client base to his office for non-judgmental treatment and support.
