“Each of us is a story, waiting for a devoted reader who will take us off the shelf and embrace all our plot twists”. I believe each client is the expert in their own story and I strive to provide a warm and non-judgmental space to allow them to feel safe to explore those chapters and allow growth and healing.
I employ a holistic approach to mental health to allow the client to see themselves as a whole person and not just their diagnosis. I am open to natural treatments and allowing the client to learn about the brain-gut connection. My approach is to tailor to the individual client’s needs, most often using techniques from CBT, Mindfulness, DBT, solution focused and client centered therapy. I provide treatment for a variety of concerns. I especially enjoy working with individuals struggling with substance use, individual and family challenges stemming from foster care and adoption, and women with infertility issues due to personal experience.
I earned a BA from Northern Illinois University and a graduate degree from St. Xavier University. Prior to joining LifeStance, I have worked in a variety of settings including DCFS, a methadone clinic providing therapy for dual diagnosis, and outreach projects to help independent living adults gain knowledge about their community resources. I also have extensive experience working with children and adolescents in foster care settings.
