Kelli Kohlstedt, AMFT, is warm, empathetic, and believes in the importance of healthy relationships. Kelli loves to teach clients new skills to utilize outside of therapy, and she strives to help her clients feel confident to create the change they are looking for in life.
Kelli received both her BA and MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northern Illinois University. She is trained in the Gottman method of Couples Therapy, is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH Marriage Counselor, and holds certificates in both adolescence and trauma-informed counseling. She has experience treating individuals, couples, and families with a variety of struggles in both hospital and clinical office settings.
In therapy, Kelli works from a relational/systematic approach and uses strategies such as CBT, Narrative, and Family Systems to challenge negative thoughts and help clients set goals. Her supportive style helps clients recognize growth from all life experiences.
