Hillary LaMontagne, LCPC, CADC, is warm, patient, and supportive as patients work to make difficult changes in their lives. She recognizes the change process is not instantaneous and offers gentle guidance as clients navigate new terrain and create goals on their journey to wellness.
Hillary earned a graduate degree from University of Illinois at Springfield and has nearly two decades of experience in individual and group therapy, She's worked with a wide variety of clients from those dealing with severe mental illness to those dealing with addiction and general life stressors. She's a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) and also has additional counseling training in trauma, grief, personality disorders, and issues affecting the GLBTQ population.
In therapy, Hillary uses a combination of CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Supportive Psychotherapy. She believes no two clients are alike and strives to create a therapeutic environment conducive to individual concerns. In addition, Hillary has a special interest in animal-assisted therapy and has seen the powerful role pets can play to help recover from mental illness.
