Daniel Sterdt, LPC, enjoys working with individuals of diverse age groups, cultures, and life experiences. He believes in the therapeutic nature of a warm, trusting, and non-judgmental relationship, as well as in the inherent abilities and values within each client.
Daniel has extensive private practice experience including a hospice bereavement counselor role that helped individuals, couples, families, and groups cope with the death of a loved one. Dan has also run a yearly summer camp for children ages 6-13, an ongoing support group for kids, and has facilitated groups for bereaved spouses and adult children.
In addition, Daniel has extensive experience working with older adults in nursing home and rehabilitation settings. He has conducted research on the effects of a positive environment on mood and self-esteem, and has presented at numerous conferences on self-care, on coping with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and on positive psychology.
