Carolyn earned her BA at Old Dominion University and a MA from Saint Xavier University. Earlier in her career, she served as a therapist for survivors of sexual trauma, a psychotherapist in a group practice setting, a family therapist at a residential treatment facility, and an adult therapist in a community setting working.
Carolyn’s approach is inviting, calm, interactive and direct. She utilizes a variety of approaches including solution focused, strengths based, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, motivational, mindfulness, and family systems. She understands that change requires hard work and strives to make other people and resources available through the process. She never hesitates to refer clients to community resources and include support systems into therapy sessions when appropriate.
