Carolyn Klinkert, LCPC, Clinical Site Manager (she/her/hers), believes that all people have potential to grow in meaningful ways with the right timing, support, awareness, and skills. For all of her clients, she creates a safe environment to feel heard, build on strengths, and challenge barriers to help live a life in line with one's values.
Carolyn earned her BA at Old Dominion University and a MA from Saint Xavier University. Earlier in her career, she served as a therapist for survivors of sexual trauma, a psychotherapist in a group practice setting, a family therapist at a residential treatment facility, and an adult therapist in a community setting working.
Carolyn’s approach is inviting, calm, interactive and direct. She utilizes a variety of approaches including solution focused, strengths based, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy. She understands that change requires intentionality and growth and is most often a journey rather than a destination. She never hesitates to refer clients to community resources and include support systems into therapy sessions when appropriate.
