Brandon Douglas, LPC offers a laid-back therapy style that meets you where you are. He is easy to talk to, especially with teens, and easy going. He doesn’t want to rush your healing without you being ready.
In therapy, Brandon helps children, adolescents, and adults at all stages of life. He specializes in working with those anxiety, depression, mood disorders (such as bipolar disorder), and more severe diagnoses. He’s especially skilled at treating:
Behavioral Issues with Children: Joint therapy sessions between children and their parents are available at the Lockport location. Helping parents recognize the triggers or behavior issues can lead to a better understanding in the family.
Severe Psychological Disorders: Brandon is a therapist who has experience working with clients diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and severe trauma. He can provide after-care services for those leaving an in-patient program, or those needing support in their everyday lives.
Anxiety and Depression in Teens and Young Adults: Anxiety and depression can cause everyday tasks to become difficult. Brandon wants to ensure you are heard. He is flexible with the various forms and techniques of therapeutic intervention to ensure you receive the best care when you aren’t feeling the best.
In therapy, Brandon wants to make sure to go at your pace. He wants to ensure there is trust between him and his client as he moves forward. He uses family therapy, talk therapy, and DBT ideals when helping gain coping mechanisms and strives to create a positive wellbeing.
Brandon earned both an undergraduate and graduate degree in psychology from Trinity Christian College. He likes to spend his free time with family, playing video games, fishing, golfing, and watching the Chicago White Sox.
