Eating Disorders: Identification, Classification, & Treatment

Lee Neagle MA, LPC has nearly two decades of experience with mental health treatment on a national scale, heading up and creating programs at treatment facilities across the country.
He is the co-founder and COO of Certa Scientia Consulting as well as a licensed professional counselor in the state of Wisconsin. Prior to his current role at Certa Scientia, Lee has served as the Vice President of Operations, Clinical Director, Education Director, and Primary Therapist for mental health treatment programs across the country. He is an active lobbyist on Capitol Hill as an advocate for eating disorder treatment and is formally a member of the Board of Directors of the Residential Eating Disorder Consortium. Lee also served on the advisory committee for the adoption of eating disorders standards with The Joint Commission.
Lee has lectured nationally for the last several years on a wide range of topics including eating disorder awareness/identification, shame, perfectionism, and experiential therapies
1. Participants will be able to explain the diagnostic criteria for Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder.
2. Participants will be able recognize the difference between eating disorders and disordered eating.
3. Participants will be able to explain the different level of care options for eating disorder patients and identify criteria for each level of care.
4. Participants will be able to utilize two “defusion” techniques based in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when working with patients suffering from Eating Disorders.
