Adam
Russo
Adam Russo is the Director of Edgewood Clinical
Services. Adam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state
of Illinois, and is also Certified as an Advanced Child, Youth,
and Family Social Worker through the National Association of Social
Workers. Adam has been providing services to children, adolescents
and their families since 1998. He received his Masters Degree
in Social Work from Smith College School of Social Work in Northampton,
MA. Adam also currently serves as an administrator at a local
residential facility for adolescents.
Adam has extensive experience working
with children and families in outpatient, inpatient and residential
settings. He is skilled at connecting with young people in individual
sessions, encouraging them to take an active role in their own
treatment. He has worked with youth facing many difficulties,
including mood instability, acting out behaviors, adjustment disorders,
family conflict, symptoms of post-traumatic stress, legal issues
and social withdrawal. Adam has extensive training and knowledge
in the area of family therapy and he uses this mode of treatment
to benefit not only the child but the extended family as well.
Adam
also has experience in working with children and adolescents who
have been identified as having learning, developmental, or cognitive
delays. Adam will work with families to create and implement behavior
modification plans that will result in improved behavioral control.
He is also experienced in assisting families to link with and
navigate public systems that provide assistance to these children.
Rebecca
Gadomski
Rebecca Gadomski is the Plainfield Clinical Director. Rebecca
is an Illinois Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been
working with children, adolescents, teens and their families
since 2002. She received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work
at Loyola University at Chicago and her Masters Degree in Social
Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
When working with individuals, Rebecca focuses on the client's
strengths to create positive changes in their lives. She has specialized
training and experience in working with children and adolescents
with special needs and with those who have endured traumatic experiences.
Rebecca has also had a great deal of experience working with children
and families regarding separation and loss.
Rebecca
has worked well in the past with children, adolescents, and teens,
who have exhibited symptoms related to PTSD, ADHD, anxiety disorders,
depression and many other psychiatric diagnoses. Additional areas
she can help others work through are increasing self-esteem, learning
stress and anger management skills, developing coping skills,
improving communication in relationships, dealing with grief and
loss, and parenting obstacles. Overall, Rebecca strives to help
families reconnect and work together to better their relationships
and ability to communicate with one another.
DeAnn
Johnston
DeAnn
Johnston is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of
Illinois. She received her bachelors degree from Marquette University
in Milwaukee WI, in 1992, and her masters degree from Loyola
University, Chicago, Il in 1999.
DeAnn
has extensive experience working with children and families
who have endured traumatic experiences. She has worked in various
settings, including home-based, and is currently an administrator
at a local adolescent residential treatment center. DeAnn specializes
in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, engaging
in couples counseling, and working with children who have special
needs. When children and adolescents are unable to cope with
overwhelming feelings, we often see secondary behavioral problems
both at home and school. Individuals may use self injury, drugs
and alcohol, become aggressive or withdrawn. DeAnn works to
help people learn to manage overwhelming feelings in way that
does not harm themselves or others. DeAnn strives to identify
and utilize the strengths of the individual and family in order
to tailor her approach to best fit their needs.
Darlene
Yoder
Darlene Yoder has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
in Illinois since 2004. She received her Bachelor’s Degree
with a major in Clinical Psychology from Capital University
in Ohio and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from
the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. Darlene
is currently an administrator at a residential program for children
in the Chicagoland area. Previously she worked as an in-home
support clinician for children in foster homes in and around
Chicago.
Darlene
has extensive experience working with children who have experienced
hardships such as separation from family, trauma, and cognitive
or developmental delays. Darlene has engaged in much work and
specialized training in the area of treatment for survivors
of sexual abuse and is committed to this work to help clients
process and overcome this experience. Many clients she has treated
commonly suffer from depression, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress,
poor self-esteem and unhealthy social skills. Darlene’s
work with children is driven by her strong belief in the ability
of a child to be resilient and enact positive change. Darlene
also has experience working with families, couples, and individual
adults who are struggling with life stressors. Darlene’s
philosophy of treatment is to first work to understand the client’s
perspective in a judgement-free atmosphere and then work with
the client to achieve their goals. With families and couples,
Darlene additionally strives to better communication within
those relationships and create new dynamics that will allow
the relationships to flourish after therapy sessions have passed.
Darlene has had experience working with clients of various cultures
from both rural and urban backgrounds and she is able to recognize
and respect those differences openly.
David
J. Ventrelle
Dr. Ventrelle is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state
of Illinois with more than eight years of experience working with
children and adolescents. A full member of the American Psychological
Association, Dr. Ventrelle received his undergraduate degree from
the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Doctorate in
Clinical Psychology from Argosy University.
Dr.
Ventrelle has experience fulfilling the needs of clients in
a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals,
residential treatment centers, outpatient practices, and community
mental health centers. In addition to significant treatment
experience, Dr. Ventrelle has extensive knowledge of psychological
assessment and has provided training to students for the past
four years in both areas.
In
his approach to treatment, Dr. Ventrelle recognizes the importance
of a thorough psychological assessment. This allows treatment
to take place based upon the identified needs of the individual,
resulting in a more targeted and personalized intervention.
Dr. Ventrelle utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches based
upon the needs and strengths of the person and his or her family.
Stephanie
Wiese
Stephanie
Wiese is a bi-lingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Professional
Counselor in the State of Illinois. She received her two Bachelor
Degrees in Spanish and English from Texas Tech University and
her Masters Degree in Community Counseling from Northern Illinois
University.
Stephanie’s
clients encompass the entire life span from children to teens
to adults, either individually, as couples or within family
structures. Using a family systems approach to understanding
her clients, Stephanie is able to not only understand her client’s
struggles, but she is also able to see the environment that
may be enabling or inhibiting the client from making the changes
they desire. Stephanie has a passion for working with female
clients in life transitions such as moving from high school
to college and college into the “real world,” as
well as entering marriage, motherhood, and other testing changes.
Stephanie’s studies and experiences of the challenges
Hispanic families face in the American culture as well as the
American school system enable her to positively assist and advocate
for these families.
Clients
who are dealing with trauma are of special interest to Stephanie.
Women who have been victims of abuse of any kind will find that
Stephanie provides a safe and non-judgmental place for them
to sort out their fears and create a plan to protect themselves.
Additionally, Stephanie provides services to returning veterans
suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and their families
through the Give An Hour organization.
Debbie
Vaughan
Debbie Vaughan is a Licensed Professional Counselor
in the State of Illinois. She was a Licensed Mental Health Professional
in the state of Nebraska, where she has recently relocated from.
Debbie is currently in the process of becoming a Licensed Clinical
Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. Debbie is also
a National Certified Counselor. Debbie received her bachelors
degree from Creighton University in Omaha NE, in 1999 and her
masters of science in counseling degree from University of Nebraska,
Omaha NE in 2005.
Debbie
has worked in the social service field for over ten years. She
has extensive experience working with children, adolescents,
and their families. She has worked in a variety of settings,
including residential, inpatient, home-based, and outpatient
treatment. Debbie specializes in working with high needs children
and adolescents, who often struggle to find healthy outlets
to cope. She has worked with individuals who have a history
of behavioral issues, conduct disorder, grief, trauma, self
harm, attachment issues, compulsive behaviors, substance abuse,
eating disorders, and mood disorders. She also concentrates
on working with women and women’s issues. She has done
a great deal of work with at risk youth and individuals struggling
with a trauma history. Debbie has also done individual and group
work with the 12 step approach to drug and alcohol treatment.
In utilizing 12 step work, Debbie incorporates a recovery based
approach to treatment. Debbie strives to be an advocate for
children and individuals who struggle to find their voice. She
uses a strength based and client focused approach to help motivate
her clients in treatment. Debbie focuses on open communication
and honesty during treatment, allowing the client to feel more
at ease and willing to engage in the overall process.
Debbie
is a native Californian, who recently settled in Chicago, via
a ten year stay in Nebraska. She enjoys spending time outdoors.
She loves to golf and spend down time in her garden. She is
a strong believer in faith and family.
Loay J. Sandouka
Loay J. Sandouka, PsyD, received his doctorate in clinical psychology
from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2008.
Dr. Sandouka’s concentration is in health psychology and
has more than six years of experience working with children,
adolescents, and their families. Dr. Sandouka also has experience
working with adults diagnosed with medical illnesses and runs
multiple health groups. Dr. Sandouka received his undergraduate
degree from Syracuse University and is a member of the American
Psychological Association.
Dr. Sandouka has worked in a variety of settings that include:
inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, residential
treatment center, community mental health centers, and medical
centers. Dr. Sandouka also focuses on administering and interpreting
psychological batteries. He has experience with completing specialty
behavioral assessments which provide detailed treatment recommendations
to reduce/eliminate unwanted behaviors.
Dr.
Sandouka is a bilingual clinician and is fluent in English and
Arabic. He is mindful of multicultural issues and has extensive
knowledge of Eastern customs/values.
